Alabama's Ha Ha Clinton-Dix was ruled eligible to play by the NCAA Friday after serving a two-game suspension.
Clinton-Dix was provided impermissible benefits by an assistant strength coach at the university. Corey Harris, the strength coach, had made Clinton-Dix a short term loan of less than $500, which is against NCAA rules. Clinton-Dix had provided Alabama's compliance department with proof that he paid the loan back.
He'll be eligible to play Saturday against Arkansas.
Someone still waiting word from the NCAA is Tennessee's Maurice Couch. Couch's wife tweeted Thursday that they're still waiting word about his status. Couch was declared ineligible after a Yahoo Sports report detailed that he and Tyler Bray took money while at Tennessee in 2012.
Bray and Couch were two of five SEC players in the Yahoo report, including Alabama's DJ Fluker, now a tackle for the San Diego Chargers.
