Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning misses practice due to minor ankle injury

If it appeared as if Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning’s body took a beating against the Indianapolis Colts recently, it is because he did.

Manning was hit 10 times and sacked on four different occasions against Indianapolis this past Sunday. He struggled to get into a rhythm during Denver’s 39-33 loss, and now Peyton is having difficulty with his ankle.

According to ESPN, Manning was held out of Wednesday’s practice due to a minor ankle injury, but it does not appear the ailment will prevent him from playing against Washington on Sunday.

Even though Manning’s injury is allegedly minor, missing Wednesday’s practice is a big deal for Denver’s quarterback.

Wednesday is when teams install the majority of plays for their upcoming game. Considering how meticulous Manning is, his ankle must be in enough pain for him to skip Wednesday and attempt a return on Thursday.

After 16 NFL seasons, missing one practice will not hurt Manning, but it is an injury worth monitoring.
