Five things to know about tonight's NHL games ...

1. The return of Timmay. The Boston Bruins are in Florida tonight, the new home of former Bruin goalie Tim Thomas. One can only hope for a line brawl that necessitates a goalie fight -- perhaps sparked by Milan Lucic running the goalie, as he'll do -- because I, for one, want to see Thomas and Rask throw down.

2. Roy's record. Patrick Roy is 6-0 to start his NHL career, tying the NHL record of Mario Tremblay, the coach that left Roy to get shelled in that infamous Montreal Canadiens game. How deliciously perfect! And now Roy can grab sole possession of that record with an Avalanche win versus the Red Wings.

3. Can the Sharks stay unbeaten? The Sharks began last year 7-0, and they can do it again with a win over the Stars. Right now, it seems likely, as they look downright unbeatable, but they're without Dan Boyle, and his trip to the hospital wore on the team emotionally. Will they be the same Sharks we've seen through their first six games?

4. Hodgson vs. Kassian. It's still too early to say who won the trade that sent Cody Hodgson to Buffalo and Zack Kassian to Vancouver (although one would have to say the Sabres are winning at the moment). Tonight's game between the Sabres and Canucks probably won't decide it either. But a strong game from either young gun and people are going to be flipping out, so fingers crossed that happens.

5. Battle of Pennsylvania. It's not the marquee matchup it normally is, not with the Flyers playing some truly mediocre hockey to open the season, but they always seem to get up for the Penguins, so it's likely that this one will be a fun and competitive game nonetheless. The Penguins couldn't come to town at a better time, especially for Claude Giroux. He always plays well against Sidney Crosby, and I think a lot of Flyers fans would like to see him play well this season.
