Devin Bracy is considered a more likely college basketball recruit than a football one. Of course, the Vallejo High senior (Vallejo, Cal.) possesses the kind of athleticism that can cross the boundaries of sports and make a major difference regardless of which field of play he's on.
Case in point: The highlight you see above, where he straight out steals a would be interception in the end zone from a defensive back for American Canyon (American Canyon, Cal.).
There are no circumstances under which Bracy should have been able to make that grab. He was shorter (Bracy stands just 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds), had an inferior angle on the play and the ball was thrown up ... in a position where a taller player (i.e., the defensive back on the play) had a significant advantage to pull in the eventual reception.
No matter. Bracy just leaped over the defensive back, wrapped his arms around the side of his helmet while somehow pawing the ball with his other hand, then slipped the ball into his grasp for a firm reception in the end zone.
It was an astonishing catch of a quality more common for the plays of the week at the collegiate and NFL level. Instead it was provided by a receiver who should be too small to make sure highlight reel grabs, but refuses to give up on any plays.
