It has been a rough month for Georgia sophomore wide receiver Justin Scott-Wesley. First, he suffered a season-ending knee injury in an October 5 win over Tennessee, and now he was cited Wednesday night for possession of marijuana and possession/use of a drug object.

Georgia housing personnel detected the smell of marijuana coming from Scott-Wesley’s dorm room at Rooker Hall Wednesday night. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a UGA Police officer confronted Scott-Wesley, who admitted to smoking marijuana and gave consent to search his room. The officer found a glass pipe and a grinder in a desk drawer. No significant quantities of marijuana were found, but residue in the grinder resulted in the possession charge, the police report said.

Scott-Wesley turned himself in to the Athens-Clarke County Jail Thursday afternoon and he was released three hours later on $4,000 bond. University officials have yet to offer comment on the situation.

Before the injury, Scott-Wesley had hauled in 16 catches for 311 yards and two scores.
