White and Sherman got into it this offseason on NFL Network, with the gist of the argument being that Sherman thought White was a product of the Falcons' system and White saying that Sherman yapped his way into a Pro Bowl.
So when Sherman was asked this week about facing White, returning from a hindering high ankle sprain, Sherman downplayed the "challenge" at hand, per the Seattle Times.
"What challenge?" Sherman asked.
Ah, Richard. Brevity is, indeed, the soul of wit.
The two faced off in the divisional playoffs a year ago, and White and the Falcons had the last laugh as they moved onto the NFC championship with a 30-28 victory, staving of a massive comeback by Seattle. But Sherman appears to have a short memory on the matter, as it relates to this game in Atlanta on Sunday, not drawing any additional motivation from January's result.
"No," Sherman said, "We're an 8-1 ballclub, they're a 2-6 ballclub. Facts."
We'll wait to hear what White says in response. It's going to be fun to watch these two lock horns this week.
