Houston Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips will fill in as the team’s interim coach while Gary Kubiak recovers from a transient ischemic attack he suffered this past weekend, according to the team's website.

Kubiak collapsed during Houston’s game against Indianapolis this past Sunday. He was taken to the hospital and released this past Tuesday.

A date for Kubiak’s return has not been determined yet.

Phillips, 66, has been a head coach with the Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, and Dallas Cowboys during his record. He owns an 82-61 all-time record.

Prior to joining Houston’s staff as a defensive coordinator in 2011, he spent three-and-a-half seasons with the Cowboys before he was fired during the 2010 season. Phillips was eventually replaced by Jason Garrett.
