Florida starting tackle Tyler Moore lost for season after scooter accident

The injury bug has bit the Florida Gators again as offensive tackle Tyler Moore fractured his right elbow in a scooter accident Tuesday night and will miss the rest of the season.

The news was first reported Wednesday morning by John C. Cotey of the Tampa Bay Times and later confirmed by UF coach Will Muschamp on a conference call Wednesday.

Moore was the team’s starter at right tackle before moving to left tackle to replace injured starter D.J. Humphries, who sprained the MCL in his left knee. The Gators also lost tackle Chaz Green to shoulder surgery, making Moore the third Florida offensive tackle to go down with an injury.

Beyond Green and Moore, seven other Gators have been lost to season-ending injuries since the start of fall training camp.

With Moore out, Muschamp said Max Garcia will move from left guard to left tackle and reserves Kyle Koehne and Ian Silberman will see time at left guard.

The 4-4 Gators will host 4-4 Vanderbilt Saturday at noon.
