Thursday fantasy fliers, Week 10: Leonard Hankerson, Christian Ponder

This week, we're dealing with four teams on bye and a fractured Aaron Rodgers, so there's work to be done. Fortunately, the Thursday game features a pair of uncommonly user-friendly defenses. Minnesota and Washington currently rank 30th and 31st in the NFL in points-allowed, and 29th and 30th in yardage. The 'Skins have given up 110 points over their past three games, which is crazy, while the Vikes have yielded 94.

So if you're looking for playable options for Week 10, widely available in Yahoo leagues, then maybe look to the north...

WR Leonard Hankerson , Was, 7 percent owned – Hankerson has dealt with hamstring issues recently, but he's listed as probable this week. Nothing to fear. Hankerson has seen six or more targets in five games this season, including last Sunday's win over San Diego. The Vikings' defense has allowed the eighth-most fantasy points to wide receivers this year, and much of the damage has been inflicted by secondary receivers (78 yards for Burleson, 103 for Cotchery, 107 for LaFell, 89 for Boykin). I'm rolling with Hankerson in a pair of leagues this week, a 16-teamer and a 20-teamer, so he gets a full endorsement as a bye-week seat-filler.

QB Christian Ponder , Min, 6 percent owned – Yeah, I know: Ponder is occasionally terrible. It's a concern. But the guy was serviceable in Minnesota's Week 9 loss at Dallas, passing for 236 yards and one score, rushing for a second TD. Ponder has four touchdowns via the ground game this season ... which is nice, because he's only passed for three. Washington's defense has been extraordinarily generous to opposing quarterbacks this year, allowing the second-most points to the position. If you're a deep-leaguer looking for a one-week replacement for Brady or Rodger, Ponder is a reasonable (if not ideal) play.

And look, he has the Funston seal of approval, too...
