To some, this is basically just a photo of an attractive member of the LA Kings ice crew. But to me and other comic nerds, this photo is an abomination. Wonder Woman and Captain America would never clean the same sheet of ice because one is DC and one is Marvel. Get it together, LA.
No. 1 Star: Anze Kopitar, Los Angeles Kings
In addition to an assist and a game-high 4 shots on goal, Kopitar fourth's shot, a powerful one-timer, was the OT winner for the Kings in their 4-3 triumph over the rival San Jose Sharks.
No. 2 Star: Jonathan Bernier, Toronto Maple Leafs
The Calgary Flames were all over Toronto Wednesday night, putting 43 shots on goal to Toronto's 21. But Bernier was dynamite, stopping 41 as the Maple Leafs skated to a 4-2 win.
No. 3 Star: Patrice Bergeron, Boston Bruins
The Bruins fell to the Pittsburgh Penguins, 3-2, but Bergeron did his part, scoring a goal and adding an assist on Boston's other one. He also finished with a game-high 5 shots on goal and won 13 of 20 faceoffs.
Honorable mention: Brandon Sutter scored a lovely goal for the Penguins:
... Second period goals from Daniel Alfredsson and Tomas Tatar gave the Detroit Red Wings a 2-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks.
Did You Know? No bottom-six forward played more than two minutes of the third period for the Canucks.
Dishonorable mention: Roberto Luongo really should have had the Red Wings' game-winning goal... but really, tonight, this section belongs to Semyon Varlamov.
