Since Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports was founded earlier this year, the company has signed many prolific professional athletes including Robinson Cano, Kevin Durant and Geno Smith. Now, it appears Roc Nation has its sights set on UCLA redshirt sophomore quarterback Brett Hundley.
Jason Cole of the National Football Post reports that Hundley’s “representatives” have talked to Roc Nation Sports about possibly being Hundley’s agent if the redshirt sophomore declares for the 2014 NFL Draft in April.
In a draft with a gold mine of quarterback talent, Hundley, a 6-foot-3, 222 pound dual-threat QB, is considered a potential first-round draft pick despite his inconsistent play in UCLA’s back-to-back losses to Stanford and Oregon.
Based on NCAA by-laws, there is nothing illegal about a student-athlete talking or socializing with an agent, as long as no illegal benefits are provided.
Roc Nation Sports has already been linked to South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, who has been considered to a favorite to be selected No. 1 overall if he declares.
