Before October 11, no football player in history had ever returned three interceptions for touchdowns in a single quarter. In a development that almost defies all statistical odds, by October 26 two players had pulled off the feat, with Horizon High (Thornton, Colo.) star Dominick Castiglione joining Washington High (Washington, Okla.) defensive stalwart Brock Harmon, who first pulled off the accomplishment in his team's 57-14 victory against Hinton High (Hinton, Okla.).
While it seemed impossible to top Harmon's accomplishment at the time, Castiglione may have just pulled it off. Harmon recorded his three pick-sixes over the course of a mere six minutes. Castiglione? He landed his three touchdown returns over the course of just 4 plays and 1:17 during Horizon's 36-7 rout of Fossil Ridge High (Fossil Ridge, Colo.).
Pause for a moment and consider how ludicrous that four-play stretch was. Fossil Ridge dropped back, three a pass and it was interception and returned for a touchdown by Castiglione. Horizon kicked off, Fossil Ridge lined up, dropped back for a pass ... and saw it picked off and returned for a touchdown by Castiglione again. Wash, rinse, repeat.

"I was standing on the sideline and thinking, 'What was happening?' " Horizon football coach Frank Ybarra told the Denver Post of Castiglione's record-tying performance.
The junior's three touchdown returns came from distances of 75, 43 and 35 yards.
Needless to say, Fossil Ridge quickly determined that targeting Castiglione's side of the field wasn't such a good idea. If only they'd learned that after the first interception TD return.
