Raiders defensive coordinator Jason Tarver gives officials the middle finger – twice

Oakland Raiders defensive coordinator Jason Tarver was quick to let NFL officials know what he thought about their call against his team during a 21-18 victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

The NFL office will likely let Tarver know its opinion of his sentiments with a fine this week.

Tarver became irritated after Oakland cornerback Mike Jenkins was flagged for hitting a defenseless receiver (Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell) with 8:54 to play in the third quarter. The flag eventually was picked up, but Tarver was furious.

After that play, Tarver responded by giving officials the bird twice while dropping salty language.

Fox Sports officiating expert Mike Pereira noticed Tarver’s transgression and blew the whistle. Here is a portion of what he wrote:

“The interesting part, despite Tarver's tirade towards the officials ... and his unprofessionalism, the officials did the right thing and picked up a flag and it wasn't a foul against the Raiders.

“But, I still felt that the league needed to know about it and that's why I called. If you want to call me a whistleblower, then call me a whistleblower because I let the league office know about it.

“This kind of behavior is totally unacceptable.

“I probably should check the mail for my thank you note this week from the charity Tarver's fine ends up supporting.”

Pereira may not want to read the note Tarver might send him this week.
